The second generation of the LG Cosmos, the slim, sleek, and feature-packed LG Cosmos Touch for Verizon Wireless boasts both a brightly colorful touchscreen display and a slide-out full QWERTY keyboard--making it ideal for on-the-go text messaging fanatics. The Cosmos Touch is compatible with the V Cast Music with Rhapsody service, which enables you to purchase songs on your PC with a Rhapsody subscription and side-load them onto the phone via a USB connection. The Cosmos Touch also offers several attributes, including a battery cover is made of 30 percent post-consumer recycled plastic. Additionally, the battery cell does not contain lead, cadmium, or mercury, and the phone's packaging materials and in-box collateral are made from high-percentage post-consumer recycled paper and printed with soy ink. Finally, it comes with a high-efficiency, halogen-free charger that alerts you when the battery is full--helping you to reduce power consumption and carbon dioxide emissions.

Other features include a 1.3-megapixel camera for still photos, Bluetooth for hands-free devices and stereo music streaming, microSD memory expansion to 16 GB, access to personal e-mail and instant messaging services, music player, and up to 6 hours of talk time.

The LG Cosmos Touch weighs 4.37 ounces and measures 4.05 x 2.08 x 0.65 inches. Its 1000 mAh lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 6 hours of talk time, and up to 480 hours (20 days) of standby time. It runs on the CDMA 800/1900 frequencies and 1xRTT data frequency.

Verizon Wireless Services

• VZ Navigator Capable: With this GPS-enabled phone, you'll be able to access the Verizon Wireless VZ Navigator service (additional charges applicable) for voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions, heads-up alerts, local search of nearly 14 million points of interest in the US (such as landmarks, restaurants and ATMs), and detailed color maps.

• Mobile Web 2.0: Getting on the Internet is easy using the Verizon Wireless Mobile Web 2.0 package, which allows you to read and send e-mails, exchange instant messages and view your favorite web content on your phone. The Verizon Wireless Media Center wireless download service is also fully compatible with this phone. This pay-per-download service features application downloads, games and productivity tools. You can also personalize your handset with ringtone downloads using the Media Center service.

• VZW Backup Assistant: Automatically back up your mobile contacts to your online address book. If your phone is lost, stolen, or damaged, or you decide to upgrade, easily restore your saved address book to your new phone. You can also add, delete, edit, and print your contacts online and send the changes to your mobile phone.

• V CAST Music with Rhapsody: Access this exclusive digital music service for RealNetworks and for MTV Networks, which delivers unlimited monthly access to music on up to three Rhapsody-compatible mobile phones and players and online on multiple PCs and Web browsers. For a monthly fee (billed on your Verizon Wireless bill), you can load and reload your subscription songs from your PC to your V CAST Music with Rhapsody phone as often as you want, and take your music on the go.
